A Natural Teacher
What will I learn on guitar?
Want to learn certain songs? Have favourite bands and artists you’d like to play like and play along to? Or maybe you don’t have a specific playlist and just want to learn how to play the guitar in your favourite music genres. Whatever your musical tastes, I will provide a guitar lesson personalised to you.
Do I need to know how to read sheet music?
You don’t need to know how to read sheet music to be able to play guitar or have lessons. At the end of each lesson, I will provide you with written tablature (guitar tab), which is an easy-to-understand method of music notation that indicates the fingering and fret in which to apply pressure on the fretboard and pick, strum or palm mute. Tab will allow you to practice what you have learnt during the lesson so that you can improve your playing and progress.
What do I need to have guitar lessons?
Guitar lessons take place in the comfort of your own home. As a mobile guitar teacher, I travel to you so you need never leave the sofa!
All you need to provide is an acoustic or electric guitar to practice on and a music player (stereo/MP3 speaker/laptop/tablet) in which to choose and play along to the lesson’s songs.
Lessons can be as frequent as you like with most people opting for a one hour guitar lesson a week. Take a look at the prices page for current lesson cost.
Where in Bolton do you teach?
I teach guitar lessons throughout the Bolton area, including Westhoughton, Horwich, Blackrod, Bromley Cross, Egerton, Farnworth, Heaton, Kearsley, Little Hulton and Radcliffe. As I travel to student’s homes to provide the guitar lesson, I am also able to teach a bit further afield, providing guitar lessons in Wigan as well as Preston and Chorley.
