My name’s Rob Ainscough and I’m a professional, full-time mobile guitar teacher offering private, one-to-one guitar lessons in Bolton. As I’m a mobile guitar teacher, there’s no need for you to travel to a studio or classroom; all of my guitar lessons are taught in the comfort of your own home!

Guitar For Beginners to Advanced

I have been providing guitar lessons in Bolton and Horwich for over 25 years, teaching beginners, intermediate players and advanced guitarists how to play, and improve, their guitar playing. People wish to learn the guitar for many different reasons and come to me to develop their skills, whether it be for personal enjoyment, playing in a band or recording their own music. Many of my students have gone on to play live in their own bands and some have even become guitar teachers themselves.

Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time, have been dabbling with guitar tabs online/from books or have been attempting to follow tutorials on YouTube, I can teach you how to play the guitar in a clear, easy-to-understand way. For those of you who are experienced and are looking to expand on your technique, from shredding to fingerpicking, scales to sweeps, I can provide thorough tuition to improve your improvisation and lead guitar playing.

All of my guitar lessons are bespoke to each individual as what one student requires from their lesson is different to the next person. Guitar lessons can be as frequent as you like with most students opting for weekly or fortnightly sessions. Each lesson is an hour long however a two hour lesson can be booked, subject to scheduling availability.

I have been having lessons with Rob for a while now and despite finding little time to practice, my guitar skills and knowledge of the fretboard have improved significantly. Rob is an excellent guitar player and excellent guitar teacher. He is very patient, understanding and encouraging when teaching, the lessons are fun and I look forward to the lessons each week.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Rob has taught me in very trying circumstances for several years. Trying in so far as I'm bone idle and rarely practice! The good news is that Rob is tremendously patient and encouraging and - in spite of my resistance - I have improved beyond measure. My lessons with Rob are genuinely the highlight of my week; he's an excellent teacher and a knowledgeable & talented musician. Factor in his affability and sense of humour and he makes a perfect tutor. He's not my first, so I should know!

All Styles of Music Taught

Instead of learning a set syllabus, I teach you the songs that you want to play. Whatever the type of music – pop, punk, country & western, blues, motown, metal, rock – I will teach you the songs that you love to listen to. Want to play Ed Sheeran songs? You got it! Or maybe you prefer the licks of Joe Satriani and blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa? No problem!

Each lesson, I provide guitar tab of the songs or scales learned so that you can practice in your own time between lessons. Students must have their own guitar to practice on during the lesson as well as between lessons so that they may progress with their guitar playing. For those who don’t have an instrument but wish to have guitar lessons, Bolton is home to a number of music shops that sell guitars.
